We're All Spectators in Cord's Poker World
The overall mood @BoomtownNOLA @HPTPoker Day 1A changed considerably - for the better - once dinner break was over, and that's NOT because of how good the crawfish etouffee is at the buffet (well, that has something to do with it).
Cord Garcia made the trek from Los Angeles and the months-long LAPC in time to late-reg the Day 1A $1100 Main Event here. He's been laughing and joking both with tablemates and basically with everyone in the tourney since he walked in.
Calling a Rex Clinkscales raise from the BB, Garcia sees a 5-2-7 flop and checks, hoping to entice a bet from the no-longer-Trumphoodied Clinkscales, but it doesn't happen. An Ace peels off on the turn, and he knows its all over, Clinkscales bets and he folds.
"How COULD you not bet that flop" Garcia laughs, turning over a 2 and saying he was all prepared to crush Rex with his check-raise. Clinkscales shows the Ace, everyone laughs, and the dealer rakes in more antes for the next hand.
No matter how BoomtownNOLA goes for Garcia, he'll be back at the very next HPT stop - Gates Poker Room in Blackhawk, CO - as he is all set to defend his title there.
