Swing and a Miss

Dan Loizzo and Michael Shanahan mix it up on the flop, the bets finally ending with all ins from both players and Shanahan - 3rd place last month at HPT Belterra - having Loizzo covered.

Loizzo has an open-ended straight flush draw, Shanahan (above) drawing to a bigger straight, Loizzo misses and is out with Shanahan - who took down MSPT Michigan in May for a $216k score - moving to about 55k.

Late Arrival

Aaron @NeverMissMassey flew in early this morning from Las Vegas after the Bellagio WPT 5 Diamond to join the Day 1A $2500 @HPTPoker Season Championship.

Allen Kessler, Keven Stammen and others were reportedly on that same flight, so say Kessler, so we're expecting the rest of the flight crew later in Day 1A.

Registration and a single re-entry per player is available through level 8 and the hour-long dinner break, closing when cards go in the air for the start of Level 9 at about 10:45pm.

Buy in at the end of registration and put a 30,000-chip stack in play for just two hour-long levels before bagging at the end of Level 10.

That'll Wake Ya Up

There's an open from William Gerding, a raise from Douglas Glasscock and by the time the preflop betting is over, both players have all their chips in the middle.

Gerding tries to talk himself out of that last bet, but when you're holding pocket Kings, I mean, there's only ONE hand that beats you.

Yep, Glasscock (above) has pocket Aces.

The board runs out Ten-High and Glasscock doubles to 59,000.
