No bets had been placed yet, but I could see it coming so I stopped at Allen Kessler's table when I saw it had folded around to Scott Dougherty on the button and Kessler was sitting in the SB with a stack of fewer than 60k in chips.
Dougherty makes it 12,000 and sure enough, after a less than 10-second delay .. Kessler moved all in for 57,500. Dougherty takes quite a bit of time, tries to get Kessler talking, then mucks 9♣️ 9♠️ face up.
"You had nines? I snapcall with nines," says Jonathan Gerrick from the 1 seat. "I have 250k, I snap-call with that, what did you have Allen?"
"I haven't played a hand yet today," says Kessler. "I had A♠️ K♠️."
"See, it was a race, I snap-call," adds Gerrick.
"I know him, though," says Dougherty, "I know him very well."
