A raise, a call, a shortstack moves all in, three calls of that all-in and suddenly there's 42,000 in the pot preflop over at Table 28.
The flop is K♥️ 5♠️ 9♥️, a bet of 70,000, and Will Lafevre pushes all his chips out believing he has the other player covered. Lafevre doesn't realize the other player still has 11,500 behind and he exposes - briefly - 9♣️ 9♠️ for middle set. He turns the cards back over, his opponent debates what to do and 3 players at the table keep debating the dealer's count-down of Lafevre's stack.
Meanwhile, Craig Casino lets me know how glad he was that he got out of the way preflop while holding AQ or a lot of his chips would have been involved as well.
Players stop chirping about the count-down of Lafevre's stack - 79,100 - a call is made and the cards are turned over.
Opponent - A♥️ K♠️ - there's 205,000 in the main and sidepots combined, almost impossible to not take a shot at runner-runner hearts for just 4.5 percent of the pot.
Oh yeah, the shortstack moved in pre- with 6-8 and has flopped a gutter.
Well, so much for any potential sweat, Lafevre hits the nuts, yep, that's the 9♦️ there ... that's all she wrote.
One player eliminated, the other is out on the very next hand.
Will Lafevre - 205,000
