We're at @AmeristarSC for @HPTPoker Main Event Day 1A and HPT's Tournament Director Jeremy Smith has just put cards in the air to kick off the Main Event.
Today is the first of three starting flights - Day 1B begins at 2pm Friday and we move the starting time up one hour - to 1pm - for Day 1C on Saturday.
Players open the day with 30,000 starting stacks and the field plays 40-minute levels on Day 1. There is a 60-minute dinner break after Level 9 and late registration plus the re-entry period closes when cards go back in the air for Level 10 at 9:30pm.
Play is scheduled for 15 40-minute levels or when down to 15 percent of the starting field today, whatever comes first - expect to play a full 15 levels as that happens most of the time. The Bag-N-Tag at the end of the day would be right about 1:45am.
Advance to Day 2 and the restart is scheduled for noon Sunday.
