305 Through 3 Flights - Day 1C Recap -

Day 1C of @HPTPoker $1100 @Gates_Poker drew 127 total entries, with 31 players bag-n-taggin' to come back at noon Sunday for Day 2.

There were plenty of ups-and-down's throughout the day, seeing players build big stacks and suddenly head for the rail as their stacks went towards others.

Bruce Carter found himself as low as 13,000 at one point in the day. By the time the bags were distributed he was the Top Dog with 330,000. Carter said he found one double up to 26k, chipped up to about 60,000 when moved to a new table, then stayed at that point until moving to yet another table.

"I was set mining all day and couldn't hit any. It was so frustrating," he said.

The set-mining finally paid off when his 99 flopped middle set and he was all-in on the flop against TopTop. He held, moved to nearly 200,000 and kept climbing from there.

Danny Gonzales, who has final tables the last three HPT Main Events here - and has cashed in 7 of the last 8 HPT's here - gained no traction at all the first 6-7 levels, but turned it on after dinner break, ending the night with 213.500.

Bryan Devonshire took a different path, continually chipping up on a pretty even keel all day long. He bagged , good for 189,000 and 7/31.

Saturday is the final starting flight, starting at noon. Players like Craig Casino, Rex Clinkscales and Allen Kessler have said they are coming to play Day 1D, so grab $1100 and come join then for 15 40-minute rounds with 30,000 starting stacks.
