Chasing Ryan

Leading the @HPTPoker 2016 Player of the Year race is Kansas City Champ Ryan Gregor - who also has a runner-up finish this year at Vicksburg.

What's the big deal about Player of the Year? How about earning entries into SIX HPT Main Events the next season - AND a hotel room at those six stops.

Gregor leads Aaron Thomas - who won here in February - by 27.5 points, with four more stops on the 2016 season. Those stops are here at Blackhawk, Daytona Beach, Reno and the Season Championships at Thunder Valley in northern California.

Matt Livingston - runner-up to Thomas in February - is 8th in the POY race and he bagged chips last night to advance to Sunday's Day 2.

Gregor, meanwhile, just ran his boat into the bigger boat of Josh Turner and has headed back to buy in for a second time.

There was a LevelUp while writing this, so action is now at

Level - 5
Blinds - 150/300
Antes - 25
Entries - 120
