It's All About Matt's Folds

"I laid down AK time and time again tonight, and it's been right each time," says Matt McMurray about his Day 1A play.

A few hands ago he lead out for 6500, only to see Sandra Bignell repop him to 17500 and David Mittleman move all-in for 20,400. McMurray found a fold, Bignell called with 77 and Mittleman's A8 got there with Barry Greenstein (Ace On The River).

"I had 99 there, McMurray said when both hands were revealed, and he patted himself on the back when the Ace came.

Two hands later he gets out of the way of a preflop raise from Michael Hinde and a call from Jim Wheeler.

Hinde lead out on the King-high flop, only to see Wheeler mover all in. Hinde mucked TT and Wheeler showed AK

"I had AQ there," said McMurray as he dodged another bullet in Hellmuthian fashion.
