Nicholas Davidson wins the HPT Main Event @ameristarEC $166,806 a $3600 championship package and The HPT Bracelet!
Davidson played pretty tight and snug early on watching how his opponents played. Kevin Saul - who played heads up against Davidson - controlled the action early and took out 3 of the first 4 eliminations. Then Davidson took over the second half.
Once 5 handed play started Davidson kick it in another gear watching him 5 bet shove twice, once with a 9 high flush draw.
When heads up play began Davidson had a 10-to-1 chip lead on Saul and never really gave it up. Saul made a small run to pull with in 2-to-1 but Davidson quickly regained control.
Davidson on the final hand had to dodge 18 outs to capture his first HPT Main Event Title. His pair held against Saul's straight draw, flush draw and overcards and the title was his.
