Hamm Brings Home the Bacon, On This Hand at Least

John Beauprez raises to 4,200 under the gun

John Beauprez opened under the gun to 4,200. Clayton Hamm called on the button and the player in the big blind also called.

The flop came  and the big blind checked. Beauprez bet 8,000 and again, Hamm called on the button. The big blind went all in for about 18,000 before Beauprez reraised to 60,000.

The action was on Hamm and he sat still for a moment, only his eyes moving to assess the situation. He looked up to the dealer.

"All in," he said.

"Damn it," said Beauprez as he smacked his hand on the table before mucking his hand.

The two remaining players showed their hands, and it was Hamm who was in the lead with a set of sevens. His opponent held only a set of fives. Hamm collected  the pot while his opponent headed to the rail.
