Maurice Hawkins held the Day 1B chiplead for most of the night, giving it up to Jason Lang for about 15 minutes, but that was all. Hawkins - up for two GPI American Poker Awards this month - seemed very comfortable all day and his stack was rarely threatened. He closed the day with 309,000.
Ari Engel was seated near Hawkins much of the day, and was around 130k-160k for much of the night. A rough double through Engel by Greg Raymer ( 44>TT) left Engel short, and he busted one hand before the end of play. Engel is expected back at 2pm Saturday along with Tim Burt, Cord Garcia, Rex Clinkscales, Allen Kessler and more.
Here are the Day 1B final Chipcounts.
