The Final Flight: HPT Golden Gates Main Event Day 1d Starts at Noon
The last of the four starting flights for the HPT Golden Gates $1,650 Main Event starts at noon. So far the tournament has drawn 519 entries over the first three days. The line is already out the door as players register for their shot to join chip leader Ryan Van Sanford (468,500) and the 103 other players for Day 2.
There are sure to be a handful of well-known tournament players in the field today that have failed to qualify so far. Allen Kessler, Jacob Bazeley, Zo Karim, and Jamie Kerstetter have all missed the Day 2 cut in the previous flights. They will need to navigate the expected 300+ player field if they want to make the Day 2 cut.
The players will have 15 40-minute levels to run up a stack or bust trying. There is a scheduled one-hour dinner break after level nine. Registration for this event will stay open until the start of level ten. Good luck to all the players seeking a spot in Day 2.
