Ben Scrogins - @HPTPoker @DBKCandPR Champion - $94,515

Winner of a huge hand at the end of the final Day 1 of the tournament, starting Day 2 as the massive chipleader and starting the final table as chipleader also, 21-year-old Ben Scrogins closed out the HPT Daytona Beach Main Event by defeating William 'Sam' Korn heads-up for the title and a $49,515 payday - plus a $3,600 HPT Championship Package.

Scrogins grabbed the chiplead with about 6 tables left on Saturday's Day 1C then took a 600k pot from Michael Hahn to begin Day 2 play almost 50BB clear of the field. Never moving out of the top-5 in chips all day, Scrogins closed Day 2 as the final table chipleader.

Korn was at 16BB and all in very early at the final table, racing with Ace_King against the pocket Fives of John Pizano. He flopped an Ace to move up in chips, slid back some and doubled again to 600k when he flopped Broadway with Ace_Jack against Ace_King of Tom Nguyen.

Nguyen would go on to finish 7th ($14,382) and Pizano 4th ($28,560).

Nick Schwarmann came to the final table 2nd in chips, quickly took the chiplead and maintained that until 5-handed, when Scrogins took control and dominated from that point until the end of the final table.

Cord Garcia moved in to 2nd place in the HPT Season XII Player of the Year race with his 5th place finish.
