Coach's Trap Misses
Coach Rick Moss makes it 6,500 on the turn on the 2-8-J-6 board and his challenger snap-calls. Moss checks when an Ace lands on the river, his challenger checks behind and announces, "Ace."
Moss shows Ace_Ten and his challenger shows Ace_Seven. The Ten kick of Moss plays, but if he was planning on a check-raise on the river, well, the trap missed.
Griffin - one seat over from Moss - says he's surprised neither player bet the Ace for value.
Why 'Coach? He was an assistant basketball coach at the University of Iowa under Tom Davis for five years and had a long, distinguished career coaching high school ball in Illinois.
