McCheese was 9th two weeks ago at HPT Kansas City to go along with his East Chicago title. Those two final table appearances has him sitting 4th right now in the HPT Player of the Year race, just 28 points behind Ed Sebesta.
Gary Herstein (3rd) and Cord Garcia (5th) are also here in Daytona Beach - not in today's flight, though - looking to move up the Player of the Year leaderboard.
