Player of the Year Race May Wrap Up Today

The final two days as Season XII @HPTPoker Player of the Year are here for @RyanGregorKC (left) and it is Gary @MowsPoker Herstein (right) who has the lead with only the Season XIII Championship left on the schedule.

Herstein wins the Season XIII title by cashing and finishing ahead of all his rivals in this event.

His closest challenger - Cord Garcia - is just a mincash today away from overtaking Herstein, so Gary needs to not just cash but run deep to secure the title.

Close behind Cord in 3rd place is Ed Sebesta, who can win the Player of the year with a 15th-or-better finish and Gary and Cord not cashing.

These three players have traded the Season XIII lead back-and-forth the past 7 tournaments.

4th place Michael Hahn is officially eliminated, but Tom Morse in 5th can take the title with his 3rd HPT St Charles final table in 3 events this year. Morse won here earlier this year.

Nick Jivkov, Matt Paten and Matt Donaldson, 6th-8th respectively, also can make a run at the title, needing no-cashes or mincashes at best from those ahead of then, along with at least a final-table finish.

Updated Player of the Year Race numbers are going to post throughout the day.
