Local player James Calvo of Naperville, IL is playing in today's flight in the hopes of staking his claim in the first HPT Main Event of 2018. He has two previous cashes, one of which was a final table appearance here in East Chicago back in August 2017, where he finished in 3rd for just over $69,000. His claim to fame, however, comes from his 2nd place finish in the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em (Event #29) at the WSOP this past summer for $282,276. With that win, he more than doubled his live tournament earnings record, which is currently totaled at $428,936.
