The Fall of Saul

Back-to-back brutal hands for Kevin Saul (left) against Matthew Radcliffe.  First, his pocket kings got chopped by Radcliffe's pocket jacks when the board ran out an 8-high straight.  Then moments later, Saul check-shoved on a 6-4-3 two-spade board, putting Radcliffe at risk.  Matt took a while before making the call with A6, but had to dodge a lot as Saul showed Qs5s for an open-ender with a flush draw and an overcard.  In fact, Radcliffe somewhat amusingly kept calling out the multiple outs he had to dodge and still wasn't sure if he'd named them all.  Radcliffe survived with a red jack & eight to close out the board, doubling up and crippling Saul under 35K.  Two hands later Saul's gutshot straight draw lost out to Dennis Stevermer's full house and Saul was eliminated.
