Five days of action at the Belterra Casino came to an end after an action-packed final table. Aaron Johnson returned second in chips, was never in trouble played his way to his first HPT title.

"Fortunately, things went really well for me. I steadily increased my chip stack during the table," Johnson said. "I was really focused and tyring to keep it low variance and pick my spots carefully. I was just trying to play my stack correctly and things went really well."

"This is the biggest win of my career - I haven't had a signature win," he said. "Taking down a big event with a tough field is great. The HPT is a good mix of pro players and recreational players."

The win pushes Johnson's lifetime earnings to over $640,000 and he said that he was planning to buy a lot of avocados.

Johnson was a force at the final table and knocked out four of his opponents at the final table.

The HPT is already running preliminary events at The Meadows Casino in Pittsburgh. Their $1,100 Main Event kicks off March 22 and features a $250,000 guarantee.

The following stop is at the Westgate Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas and the $1,650 Main Event boasts a $500,000 guarantee. Events run from March 29 to April 9.
