Regrets, Mark Has A Few
Blind verus blind, Mark Roberts (right) raised to 400,000 from the small and Mike O'Neill called. Mark then checked dark to add some intrigue to the situation and after the 5s As 7d flop came out, Mike led for a half million. Mark called and saw a Td turn. Mark checked again and Mike shoved all-in putting Mark to the test for his tournament life. Mark said, "I told myself what I was going to do here." He tanked for about 2 minutes but couldn't pull the trigger. He announced a fold and flashed an ace. Mike rolled over Q9 for a stone bluff. Mark thrashed back at himself, upset he didn't follow through with his plan.
Three hands later, Mark opened for 400,000 UTG and Mike shoved right behind him. Everyone else folded and Mark wasn't excited about showing his AQ. His fears were confirmed as Mike had AKo. The 6-J-4-9-A runout was no help for Mark who exited in 5th place for $20,089.
