Pittsburgh is a very monochrome sports town. Whereas other cities will vary their team colors (New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles) all 3 of the 'Burgh's major professional sports teams (Steelers, Pirates, Penguins) sport black & gold ensembles. It is on full display here at @MeadowsCasino in Washington, PA, less than an hour's drive southwest from the Steel City. This goes up to and including things like the headphones worn by players. As a fan of the Washington Capitals, the almost annual NHL playoff whipping boys of the Penguins, this whole experience is becoming very nauseating for me. I will be negotiating hazard pay for the creation of an unsafe work environment.
But I digress. We're now over 200 players in today's flight with another 4 levels of late-reg. to go. 400 total players for the field is a certainty and another 6-figure top prize is not out of the realm of possibility.
