Short Stack And Other Troubles
Dean Schultz came into the final table with just 4 big blinds. After the first hand, he was down to 3. On the second hand, she shoved from the small blind for 125,000. Mark Roberts in the big blind made the relatively easy call. Dean's Ad5d was ahead of Mark's Qh6d and he extended his lead by flopping middle pair (5J4). The 8d made things interesting as it Dean a flush draw, but Mark also added a non-diamond gutshot. So of course the 7s hits the river and Dean Schultz was eliminated in 9th place ($9,091).
Sad news for Dean and his fans, but some real tragic news for Chris Licht (right). The Cleveland, Ohio native was coming into the final table with a below-average stack, but had played strong yesterday and obviously had high hopes for today. However, he called the production staff and said he had suffered a death in the family and would not be attending the final table. His stack will be blinded off, but our best wishes and commiserations go out to Chris and his family.
