Current @HPTPoker Player of the Year @AriEngelPoker is here for the start of Day 1B @AmeristarSC, looking to begin his quest to be the first ever to earn two consecutive Player of the Year titles.
Winner of last year's Season Championship $2500 Main Event right here in St. Charles to secure the Player of the Year title, Engel earned an entry in to six different HPT Main Events this season.
While Engel does not have any 2018 Player of the Year points yet, that should be of no concern, as he needed a win in the final 2017 event to earn the POY title, a second-place finish would have left him short of points needed to overtake Gary Herstein.
What has Engel done since winning the Season Championship and POY title last December? He's only won an additional $589,000 ...
