Today's field is already pretty tough. There are already three past Ameristar Kansas City champions in today's field.
Ryan Gregor (pictured) won in April 2016 for a $111k score. Gregor would go on to cash in four more events that year, including two more final tables. Those results were good enough for Gregor to earn Player of the Year honors that season.
Shawn McCracken took down the Main Event last October. He earned $91,123 for his efforts. We'll keep an eye on McCracken as the day progresses.
The third past KC champ at the tables today is Greg Jennings. Jennings earned $118,560 when he won this tournament back in August of 2015. Mr. Jennings is a great Twitter follow. He'll most likely get a blog post of his own at some point this weekend so that we can tell you about some of his famous video poker sessions.
