Two different Mississippi casinos began accepting bets on sporting events this week, and @AmeristarVI, host for this weekend's @HPTPoker $1,100 Main Event, is going to soon offer sports betting in its casino.
The End Zone inside Ameristar Vicksburg is expected to be ready by the start of the NFL regular season as the location for its sports betting, according to an announcement made on the casino floor tonight.
Beau Rivage in Biloxi and Gold Strike in Tunica both began taking sports bets as of noon on Wednesday, the first casinos in the state to open for sports betting since the US Supreme Court struck down last May the previously-existing ban on such betting.
