The first flight of the $500 Mini Series Main Event from The Meadows Casino has come to a close with 11 players advancing from a starting field of 114.
James Beadnell made a late night surge to bag an impressive top stack of 592,000. There was quite a gap between Beadnell and his closest competitors as Tony Kettering was next with 402,000 chips and Rush Janes was next with 280,000.
Among the notables who entered Flight A but failed to advance were John Yocca, Penny Banhidy, Frank Guerra and Dave Costain.
Full chip counts for those who bagged are below. Each of these 11 will be joined by the players who advance from the next two flights for Day 2 on Sunday at 11:00am.
Flight B kicks off in The Meadows Poker Room Friday at noon. Players start with 20,000 chips and 30 minute blind levels. The last chance to enter this event comes Saturday with Flight C, which is also scheduled for a noon start.
