I showed up on the river to see what was taking place. Actually, I was checking the action at Table 8 when I heard Mike Shanahan (pictured) announce, "all-in," so I pivoted around.
Shanahan had a stack of 5k chips out in front of him, and more than enough chips behind to put Jim Bauner at risk.
The board read 9-5-T-2-7.
Bauner apologized to the table when his decision-time moved well past two minutes. Eventually he slapped a single chip down and said, "call."
Jack_Eight goes face-up from Shanahan .. a straight .. the nuts .. Bauner seems stunned Shanahan held J-8 as he goes to collect his $5,902 for his 18th-place finish.
Shanahan is the chipleader now at 3.5 million.
