Reigning @HPTpoker Player of the Year @AriEngelPoker started Day 2 of the $2,500 Season XIV Championship 116/133 with 42,600.
Flash forward four levels and Engel is up to 355,000 and now is 4/67.
At last year's championship, Engel asked with about 60 players left what he needed to do to win the Player of the Year title. He was told he needed to win the tournament and have NONE of the players in front of him on the leaderboard make the money.
First, none made the money
Second, he ran the table and won the tournament.
While he does not have enough points to win the Player of the Year if he wins today, don't count out Engel going back-to-back in this event.
