Players have been showing up in big numbers for every tournament during the HPT series at Hollywood St Louis, including a state record.
The opening $350 multi-flight with a $100,000 guarantee needed 334 players to reach the guarantee.
Well, how does a Missouri state record field size of 1,283 sound, and a prize pool of $384,900... Craig Welko, Mike Rieck and Mike Esquivel were among the group of six who brought the event to a close, earning between $22,000 and $37,000-plus.
Event 2 - the $300 Seniors - drew 264 entries, with Daniel Klepper and three others agreeing to bring that event to its conclusion, Klepper earning $13,000 for the win.
Event 3 - $200 7-Game Mix - had an 87-entry field, John Sturges the winner for $4,454.
Event 4 - a $200 Deep Stack - grew to a 300-entry field, with the top-three stacks chopping and Clay Wideman earning $8,532 as top stack.
Event 5 - the $125 Thousandaire - paid out $1,000 to the final 16 players.
Event 6 - a $200 with $50 bounties - was won outright by Welko for $5,150, who collected the $37,402 top payouts from Event 1.
