Although his chipstack dwindled a bit during the final hour of play, George Vazanellis still bagged the top stack from the 307 Day 1C entries in the @HPTpoker East Chicago $1,650 Main Event.
Vazanellis was up to more than 620,000 with more than 90 minutes remaining in the flights, but Nick Pupillo and Keith Albers peeled chips from that stack. Vazanellis bagged 512,000 to lead the 50 players making Day 2.
Kevin Theodore (474,000) made a late charge to bag the No. 2 stack, with Peter Kelly (391,000), Henry Zou (389,000) and Pupillo (354,000) rounding out the top five stacks.
Among those who saw their HPT East Chicago hopes fade away today without a Day2Bag was Jake Baumgartner, Matt Shepsky, Mike Sabbia, Craig Casino, Greg Geller, Jill Bryant, Keven Stammen, Ravi Raghavan, Rob Wazwaz, Gary Herstein, Darryl Ronconi, Bryan Skreens, David Larson, Alan Cutler, Ossama Estafanous, Frank Maggio and Mike Shanahan.
Here's the 50 players - from a starting field of 307 - moving on to Sunday.
