Cord Garcia - First Place - $164,988

Cord Garcia - Colossus Cord, or HPT Cord if you will - came in to the Gates Poker Room final table as the chipleader. He moved up about a milly in chips shortly after first break, then slid all the way to the shortstack when, twice in three hands, he doubled up Josh Turner.

Turner took the chiplead at that point, while Garcia worked his was back to second in chips.

The stacks more than flipped when Garcia doubled through Turner, moving Cord to top of the leaderboard and Josh to the bottom. Turner busted in 4th place, and when Garcia eliminated Gary Germann in 3rd, it was heads up time against Drazen Ilich.

Three hands in to heads-up play, Garcia moved to a 5-1 chiplead and never let up. Ilich doubled twice within about a 10-minute time span, grabbing the chiplead for a short amount of time, before Garcia took command once again.

Garcia began chipping Ilich down, then moved all in with a straight and flush draw against Ilich holding a pair and the same straight draw. Garcia turned the flush and took down the title.
