Matt Donaldson - 1st Place - $132,917

@MattDon46 Donaldson started the @HPTPoker @AmeristarSC final table with slightly more than 1 million chips, found no traction at all the first two levels and was the shortstack a few times 6- and 7-handed.

Once he found his footing, however, Donaldson was off and running and he amassed nearly 70 percent of all the chips in play 4-handed.

Play slowed, chipstacks leveled for a while, and Donaldson's lead passed over to Ari Engel for about 10 hands, then Engel eliminated Nick Constantin in 3rd place to set up the heads-up match, with Engel holding a 6.7m to 5.5m lead over Donaldson.

Again, chipstacks began leveing and soon the two players were just about even.

That's when Engel raised, Donaldson reraised, Engel 4-bet, Donaldson 5-bet all-in and Engel called. It turned out Donaldson had Engel covered by just 2BB with 12,000,000 chips in the pot.

Engel was ahead AQ>AT, but Donaldson flopped a Ten, then dodged a gutshot straight draw of Engel's to take down the Ameristar St. Charles titel and the $132,917 that comes with the title.
