Doan Crushes Day 1A

He hit the accelerator coming back from dinner, but it was a single pot that pushed Hiep Doan to a massive chiplead to close out Day 1A of the HPT $1100 Main Event at Boomtown New Orleans.

Doan found a call while holding AA when Greg Raymer shoved over the top on Doan on the river, with a flush draw on the board. Raymer was holding a busted draw and Doan picked up the entire 70+BB stack from Raymer with about 30 minutes left in Day 1A.

Up to that point, Raymer was cruising along, having been the first player to 200,000 chips and before that was a good 35,000-40,000 clear of the field.

BoomtownNOLA drew quite the opening flight, with the likes of Cord Garcia, Ben Keeline, Allen Kessler, Rex Clinkscales, Dan Lowery and Raymer bein in the field. Keeline ( ) was the only one of this group to make Sunday's Day 2.

The rest of the aforementioned group is expected - along with Ari Engel and more - to be in action Friday at 2pm for the start of Day 1B.

Here are the chipcounts of the 9 players advancing from Day 1A on to Sunday's 1pm start for Day 2.
