Ed Sebesta
Ed Sebesta made Day 2 with 165,500 and a decent shot at making the money, and possibly more at HPT Golden Gates. Sebesta's motivation might be slightly different than some others, since he gives 100% of his winnings to the Congregation of the Holy Cross.
"It's the people that started Notre Dame," he said.
Ed's son went to Notre Dame and became a priest. Ed joked that it was because he wanted free football tickets. Five years ago, Ed's son passed away. Since then, Ed has been giving his poker winnings to the Congregation.
Ed says they did so much for his son that he wanted to return the favor. I know media are not supposed to have a rooting interest, but I would be lying if I said at part of me wasn't cheering for Ed.
