Cory Smith Bags Flight C and Overall Chip Lead

Flight C drew 236 players, putting the total entries for the Main Event at 526. This generated a total prize pool of $757,440, paying the top 54 with $173,385 and a $3,600 championship package for first.

For Flight C, 47 players bagged chips for Day 2. They will join the 60 others for a total of 107 players returning tomorrow for a 1 p.m. restart.

Cory Smith (pictured) went on a tear at the end of the night to take the chip lead for Flight C with 441,000 chips. That also makes him the overall chip leader going into Day 2. Neil Patel, who also went on a big upswing in the last few levels of the night, finished 2nd in chips for Flight C and 2nd overall. Both of these players are looking for their first HPT title.
