PATTI LEADS DAY 1A

The first of two flights in the $1,650 Main Event from Ameristar Kansas City has come to a close. Seventeen players from a field of 107 entries have advanced to Day 2.

Past champion Frank Patti led the way most of the day, setting pace for his competitors, a few of which built stacks of similar size by the end of the day. Patti finished the day with the largest stack bagging 419k though James Mackey is not far behind with his 404k.

Several other notables moved on to play Sunday. Among them are Nick Jivkov, Scott Sisler, Cash Carpenter and Greg Jennings.

Many others came out and tried their luck but were ultimately eliminated. Some familiar faces from that group include Shawn Roberts, Stan Jablonski, Scott Davies, Grant Hinkle, Ryan Gregor and Ed Sebesta.

The final flight of this event is scheduled for a noon start on Saturday. Those who enter that flight will play 15 complete levels just as today's field did. Late registration will be open until roughly 7:30pm tomorrow.

There is one more $375 Qualifier on the schedule. That's a turbo tournament and it starts at 10am.
