WHEN BLUFFS GO BAD
There's an open FTA+1 from Michael Shanahan, a raise to 2,000 from Oleg Balaniuk in the hijack, a call from Greg Andersohn (pictured) on the button and a call from .
The draws two checks, a bet of 2,000 from Andersohn, a check-raise to 4,200 from Shanahan, Balaniuk folds, a 3-bet to 7,000 from Andersohn that's rejected by the dealer and everyone at the table for not being enough (it actually was, by 400) and Andersohn is agreeable so he makes the bet 4,200.
Shanahan checks in the dark before the dealer flips up on the turn, Andersohn bets 5,000 and Shanahan flats.
River is , Shanahan snap-shoves and there's no hesitation from Andersohn in making the call.
"You're good," Shanahan says with a wee bit on an embarrassed chuckle. Before he can turn over his hand, Andersohn shows for an overpair all along the way that ended up being top set.
Up goes the total air bluff from Shanahan, who is up and starting to walk away, when the dealer calls him back and says he still has 2,400 chips so he can't yet re-enter.
