PAGING AUSTIN WENTLING
Many of the staple players of the Pittsburgh area have made their way to The Meadows for one of the first two flights (or both). We've spotted Dean Schultz, Dave Costain, John Yocca, Nick Immekus, Griffen Abel and Dave Serkoch to name a few.
There is one familiar face that we haven't seen yet, though. In November 2017 Austin Wentling took down the inaugural HPT Meadows Main Event for a $102,248 payday. At the time that was the largest cash of his career.
Just a week ago Wentling scored an even bigger prize when he finished fourth in the $3,500 WPT Open Championship at Borgata for $211,562. The Monroeville, Pennsylvania native is probably still celebrating last week's cash but we're still optimistic that the champ will make an appearance before the weekend is over.
Players in today's $500 flight are finishing up the sixth level of play. The board shows 105 entries with just over an hour left of open registration.
Level: 6 (2:00 remaining)
Blinds: 300/500
BB Ante: 500
