Friday was full of action and high emotions for the Day 1B of the $1,650 Main Event, which drew 195 entrants and graduated 31 players to Day 2 on Sunday. Four separate players all bagged over 300,000, which made for a tight chip lead race, but Adam Lamphere topped them all with 385,000.
Kevin Maahs, Gary Herstein and Bob Peppe all finished over the 300,000-mark while Ed Brooks, Mike Puccio, Ravi Raghavan and Roger Campbell all finished neared to the middle of the pack. Season XIV Player of the Year Aaron Johnson bagged up one of the shorter stacks but will return for Day 2 on Sunday.
Saturday's final Day 1 flight kicks off earlier than the previous two with cards in the air at noon. Registration will remain open until about 7:30 pm when the field returns from the dinner break.
