Mike Sabbia already has one final table on the Season XV @HPTpoker tour, a runner-up in January at East Chicago for a $110,402 cash. He followed that up with a 22nd at Lawrenceburg for $3,493 more.
He's made the final two tables here in Columbus, sitting just a bit below the average stack, looking to climb the HPT Player of the Year Leaderboard.
Sabbia began the day in 6th place with 117 points, just behind the 118 of Shawn Roberts. A 26th-place finish today for Roberts moved him to 128, while Sabbia has passed him today, guaranteed at least 130 points.
He can overtake Greg Wood for the overall lead with a 6th-place or better finish should he make tomorrow's final table. A 7th-place finish would leave Sabbia 0.5 points back of Wood.
