Poker players can be a superstitious lot, wearing the same hat, carrying the same card protector, always playing their #FavoriteHand every time, etc. For many in Day 1B of the @HPTpoker East Chicago Main Event, the number 13 was very bad, while two found the number their new favorite.
The final four levels of the night became, "Please don't send me to Table 13," time for most players, as Josh Reichard and Mike O'Neill (pictured) turned multiple stacks to dust.
O'Neill (573,000) and Reichard (570,000) bagged the top two stacks among the 24 players advancing to Sunday's 11am Day 2 Restart. Each player added more than 250,000 to their stacks once O'Neill - chipleader at the time - joined Reichard at Table 13. They are more than 240,000 clear of the rest of the flight.
Among the players who made a run at Day 1B but missed out on a Day2Bag was Nick Pupillo, Jake Bazeley, Keven Stammen, Chris Moon, Craig Casino, Shawn Roberts, Andy Rogozski, Rob Wazwaz, Mike Sabbia, Jake Baumgartner, Gary Herstein, Aaron Massey, Blake Whittington, Darryl Ronconi, Mike VanderWoude, Mark Morris and Niel Mittelman.
Here's the 24 players - from a starting field of 169 - moving on to Sunday.
