Registration has officially closed on Flight A of the $500 Main Event at Hollywood Casino with 83 entries. Flight B kicked off just a little bit ago. Both flights will play down to approximately 10% of the field before bag-n-tag.
This is the portion of the tournament in Flight A where players either chip up or chip out. We just walked up on a big hand at Table 18 with blinds at 800/1,600. Timothy Ebenhoeh (pictured) flatted from late position only to see the button raise to 6,000. Action folded back around to Ebenhoeh who made the call.
Ebenhoeh check-called his opponent's 8k bet on the Q-5-3 rainbow flop.
He check-called another 10k when the ace of spades hit the turn.
The river brought a red 9 to which Ebenhoeh checked a third time. This time he wanted a raise but his opponenet checked behind and showed ace-jack for top pair. Ebenhoeh flipped over pocket nines for a rivered set and scooped the big pot. With that hand, he has chipped up to over 125k.
